Webinar: Can nonspecific effects of vaccines save the world?
This webinar focuses on viruses and vaccines. You will gain insights into the latest knowledge and research by leading experts.
Can vaccines developed for old diseases help cure new ones? And if so, why and how?
Professor Christine Stabell Benn from SDU will help us get answers to this. She is researching the effects of vaccines on the immune system, and will do an exciting presentation on the nonspecific effects of vaccines, and how they can save children’s lives and at the same time use this research as a weapon in the fight against COVID-19 and other future pandemics. During the presentation, Christine will also address how certain vaccines can have negative effects that we could not have imagined and therefore never would have had the chance to study before the vaccines were introduced.
The webinar will take place Monday, 26 October at 12:00-13:00
Christine Stabell Benn, Professor of Global Health at SDU, has been researching vaccines in Africa and Denmark for 27 years and is one of the world’s leading experts on nonspecific effects of vaccines.
The webinar is free of charge – also if you are not a member of IDA.
Please be aware that the event will be in Danish.
