The European Shortcut to Global Tech Giants

The Trade Council in the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland are hosting a virtual roundtable meeting for Danish tech clusters, tech transfers offices and similar, about the opportunities for Danish start-ups and scientists with cutting-edge technology, to initiate partnerships with the global tech giants who have their European HQ in Ireland and UK.

This online event will take place 14.12.2020 at 14:00 – 15:00 (CET)

The agenda for the event is as follows:

  1. A welcome from the Deputy of Trade in the UK and Tech Advisor, Per Andersen
  2. Presentation by the Department of International Trade and Enterprise Ireland regarding the tech environment in the UK and Ireland.
  3. Presentation of The Trade Councils’ combined research and mapping of the UK’s and Ireland’s large tech corporation’s R&D activity and the focus area of both countries’ many incubators and accelerators.
    • Including our conversations with companies such as Facebook, Fujitsu and Microsoft regarding partnership opportunities in their European operations.

The UK and Ireland have large, well-regarded tech clusters with professional and specialised incubators and accelerators where Tech Unicorns, such as Deepmind, Darktrace, BenevolentAI and Transferwise have spawned. Additionally, Tech Giants like Facebook, Google, Amazon and Fujitsu often have their European HQ in Ireland or the UK and invest billions of pounds each year in new companies and technologies.
