As part of the change, DTU Science Park is expanding its dedicated Customer Engagement team to strengthen the community already established among the more than 300 deep tech companies based in the science park.
”We want to focus our resources on the companies and startups based in DTU Science Park, providing them with exactly the right support,” says Steen Donner, CEO of DTU Science Park.
“Over the coming months, we will be developing new ways to deliver world-class services and advisory to these companies. This includes tailored facilities, access to markets, funding opportunities, talent, and closer connections to DTU," he continues.
A new approach to supporting deep tech companies
For many years, DTU Science Park has been recognised for its accelerator programs. Going forward, the organisation will concentrate on supporting the more than 300 deep tech companies based in the science park, while most startup activities aimed at external startups will come to an end.
As part of this change, the MedTech Growth program will close, and the well-known hardware program, Danish Tech Challenge, will no longer operate as an accelerator program.
"This has not been an easy decision. As part of this transition, we have unfortunately had to say goodbye to some exceptionally talented and dedicated colleagues, and we owe them our sincere thanks," says Steen Donner.
There is no doubt, however, that DTU Science Park’s programs have made a lasting contribution to the Danish startup ecosystem:
“Since 2014, Danish Tech Challenge has helped drive Danish hardware startups forward, and Medtech Growth grew out of the need we identified among many of the companies participating in Danish Tech Challenge. We are proud of the contribution our programs have made to the Danish ecosystem and of the role they have played in helping shape it into what it is today,” says Steen Donner.
The strategic change is already in effect. During the autumn, DTU Science Park expects to launch a new concept to strengthen growth among the companies based in the science park.
